In Basic Pistol, students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling. Students will learn the operation of both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. They will learn the different parts of both types of pistols and their operation. They will be taught the different types of ammunition and the manner in which ammunition functions. Students will also learn how to safely clean their pistol and responsibly store their firearms in their home or vehicle.
As for live fire training, students will learn shooting fundamentals and range safety rules. Students will be instructed how to shoot from the bench rest position before proceeding to the two-handed standing shooting position and the one-handed standing position.
Students will also learn of their continued opportunities for firearm skill development. They will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. Course requires prepayment at the time of registration. All courses have a limited amount of students and courses are filled on a first-come, first paid basis. If you cancel two weeks or more before the course start date, you will receive a credit for a future class. Cost $235.00 with supplied ammunition, $200.00 If student has own ammunition.
After you have taken the NRA Basic Pistol Course, or you seek to refine your skills. This will help you to enhance and improve your proficiency level. Cost is $100.00 per session Students must have their own ammunition, 2hr instruction time.
Carbine Defense: Fundamentals of marksmanship, combat and tactical reloads, target ID, cognitive shooting, mechanical offset, battle sight zero, theory, AR-15 manipulations, use of cover, various shooting positions & speed vs. accuracy. Minimum 500 rounds 556/223, course requires prepayment at the time of registration. All courses have a limited amount of students and courses are filled on a first-come, first paid basis or 1 on 1 training is available also. If you cancel two weeks or more before the course start date, you will receive a credit for a future class. Cost $250.00 5-6 hour instruction time.
This course will take your shooting experience to the next level. Course basics to include, fundamentals of marksmanship, equipment selection, safety, reloads (tactical & speed), and malfunctions. Use of cover, increasing proficiency at close to medium engagement of targets. Focusing on raising the accuracy level and tactical handling of pistols. Minimum 500 rounds rounds pistol caliber. Course requires prepayment at the time of registration. All courses have a limited amount of students and courses are filled on a first-come, first paid basis. 1 on 1 training is available also. If you cancel two weeks or more before the course start date, you will receive a credit for a future class. Cost $225.00 5-6 hours instruction time.
